We will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, known as "la Villa," the national shrine of Mexico, located north of Mexico City near Tepeyac where it is believed that the Virgin of Guadalupe made her appearance. The current church was built on the site of a previous 16th-century church that was completed in 1709; now, a modern structure called the New Basilica was built next to it.
